Ten on Ten: February

untitled-29

After a little one month hiatus, the Ten on Ten is back! This month’s version should have involved more pretty photos from my new apartment, but what can I say, I’m just not a morning person. Luckily, I went out for drinks beside the Louvre and had a chance to wander around and take photos nearby.

So here is a day/night Ten on Ten for February:

I usually don’t take breaks in the afternoon, but I figure, if other people are taking multiple smoke breaks, I can give myself permission to take a photo break. After all, it was somewhat sunny, with some much-missed blue skies today.

I love this wall. It’s 3 or 4 stories high and someone just decided to paint it like a newspaper and put 3D tulips on it. Sure, why not?

Even at this time of night, the Louvre is so well-lit that you can see every detail. I’d like to take a moment to mention how awesome my new camera is because I didn’t even need a tripod to take this picture! (If you’re not into photography and have no idea what I’m talking about, it’s ok; but if you do understand photography aren’t you impressed? I was!)

Is this still the Louvre? I’m not quite sure. It sort of goes on and on for blocks.

This building has a classical façade, but someone decided to put giant streaks of neon lights. I feel like whoever decided to do this was trying to be modern, but staying a little bit safe (or was on a very limited budget). I give it a B- for effort.

A block away the metro entrance had a giant structure that looked like a very big bracelet.

Well, that’s it for this month’s Ten on Ten. I hope the next one will fall on a weekend (or during a trip), so that I’ll have a bit more to work with than just work/happy hour times.

As always, you can see the other participants on French Lily’s site here.
